AGSR specializes in the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of homeless German Shepherds, mostly acquired from Wisconsin shelters. These dogs have no advocates and are frequently scheduled for euthanasia (even puppies!) because there just aren't enough homes for all the dogs that need homes right now. Our foster homes are almost always full with shelter dogs, so we generally do not accept owner surrenders. Dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned Dalmatians

We are a small group of volunteers who love Dalmatians and want to help those who have been abandoned. We began rescuing Dals in the year 2000, and have now rescued over 80 Dalmatians in need. They have come from shelters and individuals in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, and Indiana. We generally place Dals in adoptive homes only in these states.

Dalmatian Rescue of Illinois is a non-profit group. We are incorporated in the State of Illinois and licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture. We are affiliated with the national Dalmatian Assistance League / Dalsavers, whose rescue groups help Dals in nearly every state in the USA.
